
Eliza Frakes
(SHE/HER) Playwright, Co-Director, Surrogate
Eliza Frakes is an actor and writer based out of New York. Her most recent credits include playing Julie in Mother Sisters at the Echo Theatre, Piper in Lunch in Oaxaca at Playground LA, Maz in Maz and Bricks at Corrib Theatre and Sarah in the short film "Murky," which she also wrote. She studied acting and devising under Rebecca Lingafelter and Okwui Okpokwasili, and dramatic writing under Pauls Toutonghi and Don Waters. She was selected to be a young playwright in residence at the Echo Theatre in 2020, where she held a public reading of her full-length play Moleman. Her writing has been awarded and published by the Wildsound Film Festival, Cannes short film corner, The Albion Review, Portland Review, and Rock Salt Journal. Eliza is also the founding director of Nine Twenty Collective, an interdisciplinary group of artists who meet to support and collaborate with early career makers in the generation of new media.
